What the program does

An ECU's flash memory holds thousands of maps. Each map is really three facts: where it is (address), how large it is (dimensions) and how to convert it (scaling). MRC Tuner Rom uses those three facts to turn bytes into physical units (bar, °C, mg/stroke), shows you the result as a table and opens it for editing.

The whole workflow in one sentence:

ROM → map → edit → verify → package

Suggested first steps

  1. Open a project. Project ▸ New Project and pick your ROM dump.
  2. Import the A2L if you have one. A definition file pins down addresses and scaling; it gives the most trustworthy result.
  3. Take a snapshot before saving. Project ▸ Version Snapshot gets you back to any point.
  4. Verify before writing. Project ▸ Verify Checksum, and correct it with Correct Checksum if needed.
  5. Package your work. If you want the same change in other ROMs, export a .mtrpatch or .mtrpack.

Safety and regulations

Engine software changes directly affect safety and emissions tests. Measure before you change anything and check that your work complies with the rules in your country. MRC Tuner Rom only makes editing easier; the responsibility is yours.
